One Reason Why I Kept the Faith
Hi people, just had something to share about.
There're many reasons to believe in Jesus. And as for me, one of the reasons why I still kept my faith was due to one of the things God did to me.
In late October last year, not long after celebrating my birthday, I was supposed to make my way to Singapore Discovery Centre one early morning for an OCS visit. As you know, I was doing my Basic Military Training (BMT) back then, and as recruits, we were to be introduced to various vocations in the military in order for us to make decisions on where we want to be after our BMT.
I woke up close to 5 am in the morning and got dressed up in my Smartest Four Uniform, met my friend downstairs my apartment at about 6am as he'll be arriving in a taxi at the bus-stop. And from there, we set off for our destination.
Halfway through in the expressway, I don't know what's going on with the taxi-driver and had no idea of what's going to happen. Suddenly, the taxi swerved to the side of the road, hit a van infront and crashed into the metal rail. The tremendous impact shook us up as though we had fallen asleep. I saw everything that was to come. The front of the taxi was badly shaped and it nearly overturned. My friend and I were in a deep shock of our lives.
After settling the whole accident, we arrived at our destination punctually and most of all, safely. I heaved a sigh of relief and thanked God for protecting me during the accident, reaching my destination without a scratch on my skin. Well, He not only protected me, but protected my friend and the taxi-driver also.
Now, looking back, I can imagine what would have happened to me or to those around me if I hadn't know God. Well, that's one reason why I still kept the faith. God protected me.
I'll never forget that "adventurous" ride, especially when you don't get that too often here in Singapore.
