New Year Count Down II
Two more days to the end of the year 2004... Time flies... and here I am typing my words with desperate fingers and unbelievable enthusiasm. Funny isn't it? Time seems to be accelerating ever since the recovery of my illness. It's like going by so slowly during the times I was in pain and seemed without hope. Everyday, I waited for the time to pass quickly so that all treatments will be finished and done in no time. I waited for months and here I am, today, at the very last minute of this season, writing in the pink of health, with gratitude and gladness, with praise and thanksgiving, I give my thanks to my Lord Jesus, for by His stripes, I'm healed.
Tomorrow, I'll be meeting up with my Cell Group for a year-end fellowship. We would be celebrating the end of the year, and also share the best testimonies this year and I was told to share mine once again. I am happy that my testimony has been known as one of the best testimonies this year. However it wasn't just a testimony. It is a lesson learned for my part as well. One could never understand or deeply recognize the long pain and sufferings I'd gone through but all I can say is that in everyone of us, we have a seed of courage and perseverance. Most importantly, it is the seed of faith - faith in our Lord. And because we have them inside all of us, it only takes a little effort to excavate it from the inside, and then cultivate it.
Without going through this mishap, I wouldn't have learned so much about myself. I wouldn't have known that I am actually, a strong person - physically, emotionally and mentally. Nor would I have known that the seed of perseverance and faith has been unknowingly dug out of me during those dark times. Also, I wouldn't have discovered my potentials such as writing and doing up web sites such as this.
In the beginning of this year, my Senior Pastor spoke about discovering and cultivating our potentials. Also, all of us were encouraged to write our goals for the year 2004. The year is coming to an end. The Goals I've set never came to pass.
However, right after the sermon on dicovering our potentials, I spent my time in camp figuring out what potentials I had. I gave up and I'm glad I did.
Alright, I'll be departing soon. Perhaps going to get some inspirations on writing my short statement for the year-end party. An Yeung Hige Seyo!
