Break Line

Ooooh... fresh air. Need to take a break after so long. Been reading the Psalms and doing my own stuffs these days. Glad I'm able to contact my buddy Steve and met up with him the past two days.

I'm pretty happy, now that every treatment I have to undergo is finally over and there's now more time for me to see the world a little bit. So recently, we met up and went to town, the place where he works as a part-timer. I was looking around as I toured the whole Orchard Road area. Nothing much has changed, besides the usual crowd and similar types of people I would expect to see. Except for the advance decorations for this coming christmas season, everything seems to be the same.

Yesterday, we managed to sneak into Paragon (the place of what we call it as the "Rich-man's Mall"), get some glimpse of what was around there then got out. As usual, there were not so many people there. Even if there were, I guess they'll be some what like us. But even if they dress like one rich pal, it's almost always a deception. Don't even mention about us, guys in t-shirts and jeans...

Well, I guess someday I would be touring there more often. It will be a step-by-step strategy to get to that kind of luxury, and so I thought. I want to be more successful than all of my friends... or so I desire. Perserverance is the key now. This is the aftermath lesson I'm struggling myself to learn. You know... 'aftermath' as in right now I have fewer 'appointments' to go... yup, glad if you know what I mean.

And today, guess what, my other buddy Robin called me as soon as he booked out from Tekong camp. He had just finished his BMT field camp and range. Phew, glad he had cleared them with ease. But still, I was shocked when he told me he had signed an extra duty for leaving his rifle unattended during the field camps days. Oh my, and this was a careless mistake. Well, I've been through that... doesn't matter. A recruit who makes no mistakes will learn nothing and gain nothing. In the end, he's just as good as the average, mediocre recruits like anyone else.

Anyway, glad my buddies are doing fine. My plan is to get them together one day, just three of us, we will hang out again once more, just like the old days in Chong Boon Secondary School, when we were together all the time. Man, how I missed those times...
